His career in the recruiting industry began in 1992. After graduating from Lawrence Technological University to become an architect, Steve Lowisz quickly realized that he liked working with people more than blueprints. Moving into a sales and later a sales leadership role, Steve was ultimately responsible for hiring quality talent and utilized a recruitment research firm to identify candidates. Inspired by the industry, he became driven to make a difference. Today, instead of building skyscrapers, Steve builds recruiting partnerships with leading organizations all over the world.

Founded in 1999, Qualigence, (the word comes from a combination of “quality” and “intelligence,”) was the result of hard work, a dream, and heavy risk. Steve’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to break barriers within the industry and become known as an expert…not just in recruiting but in entrepreneurial vision. Steve’s wealth of recruiting knowledge has gained him “expert” status among Qualigence clients and across various recruiting conferences. He is hired by clients as a consultant and trainer as well as being selected by leading recruiting conferences to share his insight, trends and recommendations as a keynote speaker, workshop facilitator, and panel moderator.

As an expert in the industry, Steve also writes articles that are published regularly by recruiting associations including ERE, Kennedy Information, HR.com, HRmarketer as well as being included in publications including HR Management and the Journal of Corporate Recruiting Leadership. His articles are educational yet encourage the reader to look at an issue, process, or challenge from every angle.

Steve recently completed writing his first book, Recruit or Get Out of the Way, which will be available in the Spring of 2010.

Accolades for Steve include being selected in 2008 by the Small Business Administration as the Small Business Person of the Year for the state of Michigan. Steve was not only recognized in a Michigan Award Ceremony held at the state Capital, but he was also included as one of the 50 state winners that were recognized in an elaborate award presentation at the White House. This was an amazing honor and clearly signifies Steve’s drive for excellence.

Also in 2008, Steve added the role of Chairman for AllianceQ to his bio. AllianceQ is a collaboration of companies that have come together to build an exclusive recruitment network. The purpose of the Alliance is to drive down their future cost of recruiting, help job seekers get connected to jobs, and be a resource to industry intelligence. This is a natural fit for Steve given his experience and extensive knowledge.  It is an endorsement to his reputation as an industry thought leader and solution provider.
