Networking is considered the best way to build a deck of contacts that benefit you both personally and professionally, and has been for a long time. Old fashioned networking, the kind that takes place face-to-face or over the phone, will always be extremely valuable to the networking process. However, in a time of Internet technology, the creation of online communities has taken a big step in additional networking opportunities.
Sites such as Linkedin.com, Facebook, and MySpace are highly praised by the younger generation of professionals, and as the trend continues, nearly every professional will have an online profile through at least one of these sites or the many others that are similar to it. An online professional profile usually includes the basic information such as the person’s name, company, and title. Personal customization can include past job experiences and internships, responsibilities and job duties, and even a photo.

Qualigence is committed to giving back to the community, as evident through their partnership with Pathway Family Center. This last October, Qualigence initiated, planned, and sponsored the Inaugural Magic of Kids Event in Detroit, MI; a gala that took place at the beautiful GEM Theatre downtown.
Pathway Family Center is a non-profit organization that was created in 1993 to provide long-term substance abuse treatment for adolescents. For the last 13 years, their Ohio location has hosted the Magic of Kids Event in Cincinnati. The event consists of dinner, and a live and silent auction that has raised thousands of dollars to help provide treatment scholarships for incoming patients and help minimize the cost of treatment for families. Steve Lowisz, President and CEO of Qualigence, was passionate about bringing the Magic of Kids event to Detroit this year, and through the hard work of Qualigence and Pathway Family Center employees, the successful first annual event was held on October 23, 2007...
